The Filofaxist

I've had this in my stash for a few weeks now and haven't gotten around to doing anything with it, until now.  It's no bigger than a credit card and is ideally suited to fit in a wallet or possibly a card slot in a Filofax or organiser. Like many other Galen Leather notebooks it's made by Tomoe River and is very thin but also high quality. I'm yet to find a pen to go with it  but it's pretty unlikely I ever will! I will be keeping mine in my Filofax Malen Ochre Wallet as a back up notebook. 

I'm happy to spend some time with just about any type of organiser and give it the benefit of the doubt before I use it, which is what I did with this one. This one came from a charity shop and features a page inside saying it's made by the book people who are now known as the gift people, they used to drop books off at your workplace for you to sample and then buy. It may have a look of crocodile skin but it certainly lacks the quality, it's made from cheap rubber or at a push maybe PU leather, but certainly not real leather. You can always tell when a organiser is made badly, the credit card slots inside always look slightly open and seem to peel away slightly, a leather Filofax or organiser should hold its shape even if its being used a lot. Well Christmas as usual has been a whirlwind and eaten up all my time but finally i'm back in the office getting on with things. First up is my list of organiser brands that you may have seen before, I've added about another 40 names I have found over the last few months. I have also added 2 new sections, branded Filofax and Funfax, I will be reviewing these in a blog post very soon. I've been a naughty boy this week and splashed out on some new bits for me and my good lady wife, I spent nearly £50 and ended up with these beauties! I bought myself the pen holder with pen in black in both A5 and personal size whilst I bought my wife the same sizes but the blue colour. You will notice immediately that the black ones are fully black but the blue ones have blue outer pockets but the middle piece is transparent. The black holders come with a brown pen (from the botanics range) whilst all the the others that are available come with the a matching coloured pen. The complete range from the actual Filofax website features just A5 and personal holders with 5 colours in total, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green and Black. These colours are very much in keeping with a lot of the current on trend organisers that Filofax stock, I think they lack a little imagination but I suppose it is still early days and they are at least trying something out.
